We are seeking an ambitious, energetic, and creative professional who will develop digital strategies for some of our most important fundraising and campaign work.This role will require a special emphasis on developing and improving our email and SMS (text) programs and will be an exciting opportunity for the right candidate.Our email program is the foundation of much of our digital engagement work, and our SMS list is our fastest-growing source for fundraising and advocacy asks.Theres extraordinary opportunity for growth and innovation on both channels, and the ideal candidate will be someone excited to jump in with both feet, try new things, and work with their teammates to create new models of growth and engagement.The person in this role will need to be able to operate on many different levels.

Theyll need to be able to work with our global partners across the international Greenpeace family, while developing strategies that work in American communities.Theyll spend the morning developing a long-term plan to grow our supporter base, and then the afternoon writing and coding a rapid-response email.Theyll be able to develop strategies to increase fundraising and engage volunteers.

Responsibilities Digital strategy:
Develop cross-channel digital engagement strategies for fundraising, growth, and campaigns. Lead digital department and cross-organizational projects. Collaborate with other members of the digital, campaigns, communications, development and organizing teams to shape Greenpeaces integrated engagement strategy. Mentor other staff members. Lead trainings and coach others in digital skills and best practices. Hire, train, and supervise interns. Other duties as assigned or necessary.

Email program:
Write, code, and produce engaging emails that motivate our supporters to take action, donate, and volunteer. Manage key aspects of our CRM, EveryAction, including training staff and developing strategies for email targeting, segmentation, new supporter onboarding, and testing. Manage our email calendar, including segmentation. Serve as Greenpeace USAs resident email expert. Stay up-to-date with trends for email marketing, advocacy, and fundraising; test new practices. Work with the data team to track and benchmark email performance. Manage Greenpeace USAs A/B email testing program, including determining testing priorities, bottom-lining tests, and ensuring that learnings are implemented.

SMS/text program:

Manage our SMS program, including advocacy and fundraising work.Develop and manage an A/B testing program to improve SMS performance.Train other staff to use our SMS tool (MobileCommons) effectively.Qualifications Expertise in communicating and managing conversations about social and racial justice issues.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in digital campaigning, organizing, or marketing including email writing and list building, database management and segmentation, and online fundraising; or a mix of digital and other campaigning/organizing/fundraising experience, with a strong track record of strategy development and digital content planning and creation.Experience creating digital strategies that result in winning major campaign victories and raising money.Strong leadership skills, with demonstrated success working on cross-functional teams in a campaigning environment and/or leading large projects.Proven email writing and editing skills with a strong attention to detail.Expertise in online platforms and tools such as CRMs, Wordpress, Google Analytics, etc.
