Brandy Labrador Retriever Adult - Adoption, Rescue for sale in San Francisco, California

Brandy: 7 year old female yellow Lab 88 pounds, not-yet spayed

URGENT: Foster Needed

Hi. I am Brandy. I am seeking a new home where I get to live inside with my new parent(s) or family and sleep on a cozy dog bed. I may be 7, but I still have a lot of energy and I am looking forward to regular walks or hikes to help me get back to my ideal weight and condition. Would you provide that for me? If so, I will give you unending love and companionship.

Background: Brandy is a beautiful AKC registered yellow female that lived with her family since she was a puppy and who had a number of litters of puppies herself. She was primarily a backyard breeder dog that didnt get out much to socialize with other dogs, although she did have regular socialization with members of the family. Family finances have made it difficult for the family to continue to care for her and so they asked GGLRR to find her a new home.

What Brandys Rescue Rep says: Brandy is ready for a fresh start with a family that is around a lot and makes her a part of family life inside the home and out. She needs a savvy dog handler that will train her to walk in a heal position on leash. She needs to be the only dog in the home and appears to be house trained. Brandy would do best in a more rural/country setting. She is treat motivated and will be a quick study of a full range of obedience commands. She needs parent(s) committed to daily exercise and controlled food portions in order to get her back to a healthy weight.

Medical Information: She is microchipped, heartworm negative and current on shots. Brandy should lose about 8 pounds. We will coordinate her spay with her adopter.

Brandy is located in: Berkeley

If you are interested in Brandy, please call or e-mail (preferred) Rescue Rep Sarah,

(Please keep in mind we are all volunteers, most of us work full time and we all have personal lives. I do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient and I will be back in touch with you. When the dogs are in foster homes then it may take longer as we need to touch base with the fosters for updates on the dogs. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week and we do not have a facility that we keep the dogs housed in. They are scattered all over the Bay Area.)
